NAMI-NYS Participates in Governor Hochul’s
Youth Mental Health Summit as The Governor Releases Report on the Findings of her Youth Listening Tour
Yesterday, as Governor Hochul released a report detailing the findings of her youth listening tour (press release below), she also convened the New York State Youth Mental Health Summit at the Javits Center in New York City. NAMI-NYS was well represented as Senior Director, Government Affairs, Matthew Shapiro, Government Affairs Coordinator Haley Amering, Board Member Lucille Ettere as well as leaders from several of our affiliates participated in this critical discussion.
It was incredible being part of this think tank and to be among so many leaders dedicated to addressing youth mental health, there was such a positive and focused energy throughout the day and NAMI-NYS connected with several new partners. We are grateful to Gov. Hochul and the Office of Mental Health for making youth mental health a true priority. NAMI-NYS looks forward to joining the Hochul administration in taking the next steps to address and improve New York youth mental health.
